Tucker | change management | Managing the Future - is a book which was revelatory to me and catalytic in my life. I had the pleasure of hearing Robert Tucker in Evansville back in 1997, and that presentation brought into sharp focus in my life the 10 major forces which were driving change - not just in business - but in medicine and psychiatry. I subsequently wrote about them in an essay on my web site. Anyone interested in "change management" and how to reposition oneself or one's company in the current whirlwind of change and vigilante consumerism should read this book! | |||

Thriving
in the Midst of Change - highly recommended. Then
again, I'm biased. I wrote the chapter on Customer Service.
It's the story of the adventure of my professional practice of psychiatry,
focusing on the patient, emphasizing quality and "customer focus," and
basically cutting insurance companies and managed care out of the equation.
Harvey Mackay once noted that "people don't care how much you know about
them, as long as they know that you care about them."
My chapter in this book focuses on establishing a relationship with your
customers (or patients, in my case), where there is no doubt that you care
about them, and do so, deeply. I will be posting several
excerpts from this chapter on my web site.
The chapters from the other professional members of the "Voice of the Speaking Profession" - the National Speakers Association, are also quite good. Many of them are potentially life-changing for the reader. I strongly, strongly, recommend this book! |
